I love how kids can get creative with everyday things - this is 'Superbud', made from a piece of my kids' current favourite breakfast cereal. He has a little house with a bed and food, an umbrella (cocktail umbrella!), and keeps popping up all over the house. I have had to save him from being eaten by the dog a few times.

Meet Superbud

When I was 6 my best friend found a speckled dried bean god-knows-where and we played with Beanie every recess and lunchbreak for like, a whole week. My grade 1 diary carries an entry for one day, surrounded by handdrawn tears, saying nothing but "Beanie's lost." Guess we were pretty attached to that little legume.
